LibreOffice 4.0为“自由办公套件社会提供了梦想着十二年的第一个版本，2010年9月公布了一个目标，建立一个更简介，更精简的代码库,一个改进功能，更好的互操作性，以及更多元化和包容性的生态系统。

  • option to attach comments to words inside the actual document via selecting a word-->Insert-->Comment (thus accurately extending LibreOffice 3.6.x’s already-present ability to attach sidebar notes to special characters-only), action that summons a handy note-taking area, allowing the user to add specific comments paired with default values, such as username, date and time, etc
